Info

Facter is an artist, writer and editor. His love of technology and its impact on our world is manifest in the unique linework within the creatures he creates. His work often depict a futuristic look at our culture based on his interests in Singularity theory, technology, science fiction, tribal and traditional artwork and evolutionary biology – which just means that he enjoys drawing robots, creatures and other weird cyberorganic entities.

Outside of his day job as a Technology Analyst, Facter is also the chief writer and editor for the Invurt.com webzine, which provides an informative and up to date source of exhibition and event news from across Australia, NZ and SE Asia, by providing articles and interviews on artists and creatives both living, and displaying work, across the country.

He also regularly participates in live art events, and also co-ordinates the dissemination of whatever walls and spaces he can find to his friends, fellow, and visiting artists. He also performs consultation projects and participates in public talks in regards to Street Art in Australia. He is also  well known advocate for graffiti and street art in the public realm.

Facter has exhibited at galleries such as Artboy Gallery, For Walls, Surface Pop, Rancho Notorious, Brunswick Street Gallery, Egg Gallery, These Walls Don’t Lie and At Large Gallery. After a brief hiatus in 2013 to travel the world, as well as to help put on large scale mural events such as ALLYOURWALLS.

“Facter is a stalwart of the Melbourne art world. The catalyst and energy behind a great deal of beautified buildings in and around our fair city, the editor of Invurt and an accomplished artist in his own right. Facter lends his segmented, cellular style across any shape, body or form he chooses with striking effect. The result: graphic and engaging works that announce their presence on every wall they find themselves on. ” James Watkins – T-Squat Magazine
